Spring is Coming
I’ve lived in Colorado since 1986 and this is the driest, warmest winter I can remember. Maybe the windiest, too! Of course we still have normally snowy March and April to get through but the likelihood of sub-zero temperatures is pretty slim. The other thing I like now that March is here is that most of the “New Years’ resolutions” have been forgotten and the packed gym of January has given way to the normal crowd of die-hards that are there throughout the year. Spring is also a time of renewal and cleansing. Spring and fall are the two best times of the year to do a liver and bowel cleanse. If you are interested in doing a 3 week cleanse, you can contact us for information on the Standard Process Purification Program.
I’ve haven’t talked about this in a very long time but I want to remind everyone not to sleep under an electric blanket even if it is turned off. They are best used for thawing out frozen water pipes but not for warming up cold bodies. The magnetic fields coming off these blankets can disrupt your body’s energy fields and may cause serious ailments over time.
Recently, Dr. Mercola mentioned this in one of his newsletters that everyone should read. He states, “Recent data reported in the American Journal of Epidemiology suggests that regular use of an electric blanket may increase breast cancer risk in some women, and according to a 2007 report published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention, using electric blankets was associated with a 15 percent higher prevalence of endometrial cancer than never having used one. The same study also revealed that the use of electric blankets for 20 years or more was associated with 36 percent higher prevalence of endometrial cancer. Other studies have shown that the EMFs generated by electric blankets suppress melatonin production. Melatonin is the most important detox agent for your brain and is also an anti-inflammatory. Electromagnetic radiation can make inflammation worse by creating more potent mycotoxins, so reducing inflammation is vital. Research included in the BioInitiative Report mentioned above have also found links between melatonin disruption and the promotion of breast cancer.” Is-Your-Electric-Blanket-Safe.aspx
I disagree with him that you can leave it on the bed if it is off. The wires in the blanket lying over your body pick up the electrical energy that you produce and then create a secondary magnetic field around those wires which disrupts your energy fields. If you put an unplugged electric blanket over someone, you will find it weakens muscles that were strong without the blanket on them. I also find that people with chronic ailments will not get well if they use an electric blanket. It is not worth your loss of health to sleep under one. Flannel sheets and a goose down comforter are the best for keeping you warm. Also, wear socks to bed and even a hat if you need to, to keep you warm.
The only acceptable way to use an electric blanket or mattress heater to warm up the bed is to place the blanket on the bed under the down comforter and over the flannel sheets for up to 30 minutes before going to bed. Then pull the blanket completely off the bed and hop in. There you have a nice warm bed that won’t be harmful to your health!
The Guard that Kills
In January 2007 newsletter I wrote about Gardasil and its potential problems. Recently, Spain withdrew Gardasil after two teenagers got seriously ill after being injected with the vaccine. Dr. Mercola wrote about this in a recent newsletter “Over 10,000 adverse reactions, including 29 deaths, have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in relation to Gardasil -- and that is just from the United States. Although Merck, which manufactures Gardasil, has reported a 16 percent decline in quarterly sales of the vaccine, and said it expects sales this year to be lower than expected, a massive campaign is still underway urging young girls to get vaccinated and become “one less” victim to cervical cancer. This is going on in many parts of the world, including in Sweden, which recently announced all primary school girls will be able to be vaccinated with Gardasil for free starting in 2010. Merck has also been pushing for an expansion of uses for Gardasil. In the U.S., the vaccine can also be promoted to prevent two rare vaginal and vulvar cancers, and Merck just recently filed for FDA approval to use Gardasil for boys!” Spain-Withdraws-Gardasil-After-Illnesses.aspx.
I would never allow this to be injected into my daughters and you should really look at all the evidence before allowing it to be done to someone you love.
Speaking of loved ones, back in November my sister invited my girls and me to meet them in the Bahamas for a week in March. They have a timeshare there and the girls and I have never been so we will be basking on the beach from March 7-14. The office will be open the normal hours that week so you can get supplements and continue your spinal decompression treatments. There will not be another doctor in the office to adjust anyone but the staff will have someone you can call for emergency treatments.
Back in December, we opened up our schedule in the morning on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to allow people to get in during that hectic time of the year. Most mornings I’m here anyway doing administrative work, researching or writing. Since I’m usually here anyway, I’ve decided to let the staff schedule patients from 10 AM-12PM on those days. There maybe some mornings that I’m out of the office doing a seminar or other work so be sure to call ahead to make sure I’m available. We're just trying to make things easier for everyone to get in to see us. Happy Spring!
