Dr. Reese’s Bits and Pieces
July 2020 Newsletter
Hope you are having a great summer so far. Be sure to get some sunlight on your unprotected skin and through your eyes daily to help you make vitamin D and to stimulate your pineal and pituitary glands. Just avoid getting sunburned. Sunlight is truly a nutrient for your body just like it is for plants.
A Love Letter
This is my 37th year in practice and my 50th year working. I have had the pleasure of helping thousands of people to feel better and to regain their health. It is what I love to do even more than golfing. Knowing that I can’t do this job forever, I have been looking for someone who can give you the kind of care you deserve when I’m gone. I’ve found that in Dr. Jared Gruhl. A full introduction to him is later in this newsletter.
I will still be around until the end of the year treating patients and helping with the transition. After that, I plan to take a long vacation (if we can travel!) to Asia or South America. Since I’m going to be a grandpa this September, I can’t be gone for too long without coming back to spoil my new granddaughter! I will miss you and Rebecca immensely but I have tons of great memories to tide me over. I’m glad to have the opportunity to pick my successor and help with a smooth transition. I will not disappear completely. I have reserved the blog domain drreese.blog to update you on what’s happening with me. It’s not setup yet but will be in a few weeks or so. Thank you for giving me the honor of being your doctor all these years. Love you! XOXO
Dr. Jared Gruhl, DC, BS
I have already had the opportunity to meet some of you and I wanted to thank you for the warm welcome I have received so far! For those of you I haven't met, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let you all know about some exciting developments at Dr. Reese’s Boulder/Gunbarrel clinic.
As most of you know, Dr. Reese is soon making a life changing move to retire and travel to many exotic places! He and I have planned a transition over the next six months in which we will be working together side by side daily, in the care of every patient. That way, once Dr. Reese officially retires, I’ll know exactly what’s worked well for you in the past and will be able to continue to provide the same level of care you want and expect. As much as we are all a little envious of Dr. Reese’s exciting retirement plans, I wanted to let you know that my new job here is an equally incredible opportunity to fulfill on my mission of helping as many people as I can.
For the past 14 years I have practiced chiropractic, nutrition, and functional medicine in both Minneapolis and in Denver. I have always loved Colorado and since moving here in 2009, the Front Range community is near and dear to my heart. After spending the last few years working from a home office and doing online nutrition consulting, I decided it was time to get back into a brick and mortar practice of hands-on healthcare. Dr. Reese and I hit it off immediately; in fact, I’ve never met another chiropractor who has had the exact same training and philosophy in healthcare as I do. After several months of talking and getting to know each other, we knew this was a perfect match!
Just to let you know a little more about myself, I graduated in 2007 from Northwestern Health Sciences University. My passion has always been for nutrition and comprehensive wellness care. I’ve obtained certifications in nutrition, diet & lifestyle coaching, dry needling, yoga, cellular detoxification, and have studied acupuncture, muscle testing, energy therapies, and more. I enjoy yoga, hiking, biking, swimming, group fitness classes, and meditation almost daily! I love cooking homemade meals with friends, visiting nearby farms and farmers markets, and traveling both within the U.S. and overseas.
I know change can be a bit disconcerting, so I want to be perfectly clear on what you can expect in the months to come. Rest assured, Dr. Reese and I share virtually the same nutritional and " root cause " philosophy, so all of the techniques, supplements and care plans will remain exactly the same as they have been. Also, there will be no changes to your fees or payment plans. The care team, techniques and nutrition you have come to love and trust will always be here.
I am so excited to get to know you all, and I promise to do everything possible to be the best doctor I can for you. Thank you in advance for this wonderful opportunity.
